DAR YACOUT, Moroccan High Cuisine
Probably Dar Yacout it is one of the best Moroccan restaurants in Marrakech, owned by Mohammed Zkhiri the ex Honorary British Consul, has been visited by many well known celebrities, but also its one of the most expensive restaurants. The fixed menu costs aprox £60 a head, including drinks.
This restaurant in not another restaurant to choose. It is, about all, a dinner fantasy with fantastic rates, a spectacular place to dinner, looks like an oriental palace.
Located in an old riad, Dar Yacout is so grand it even has fireplaces in the bathrooms, mosaic floors, chandeliers and fountains. While costumers wait to be seated, they can sip drinks on Yacout’s rooftop terrace. Guests can enjoy the panaramic view of the Koutoubia mosque, while sprawled out on a sofa. Known for their lemon almond chicken tajine, and tasty desserts the Dar Yacout is a bit pricey, but it’s hard to find a more luxurious restaurant
For gastronomes it is a highly recommended place. Highly traditional Moroccan gastronomic cuisine with a menu incorporating an amazing succession of flavours, and service that lives up to anyone’s standards. The menus are closed.
In recent years there have been similar restaurants with same quality but with best prices… but Dar Yacout, now, is it legendary in Morocco.
Riad Aguaviva recommend only for a very special dinner. Very expensive and fast menu.
