5 new tours of Marrakech dedicated to crafts

A project initiated by the Ministry of Crafts and the Partnership Agency for Progress, which was recently presented to the players in the profession.

This is to encourage and direct visitors at the whim of 4,400 points of sale kept by the craftsmen. 23 km in total for these five channels, four of which in the old town, marked walks for three to four hours.

Tourists can discover more easily the places where they sell the real crafts of the city, but also the different historical sites, such as squares, foundouks, tanneries, the walls, the doors, the mellah … and to guide all this little world, the routes will be marked by 186 directional signs, entrusted to the city for maintenance and upkeep. Other information panels will also be installed in front of the monuments crossed at these circuits.

Iron and clay … between souks and foundouks, the walker discovers the wrought iron work, brassware and pottery.
On the way tanners … everything you need to know the skin slipper with this walk of four hours.
The art of wood … four hours for this walk also dedicated to wooden achievements.
Sewing up … a circuit on the textile.
Arabian horse carriage doors … this time to discover the walls and gates (Babs) from the old town.

The month of April (2014) will be dedicated to the promotion of these five circuits, with great bursts of commercials, thematic brochures and campaigns on social networks. To assess the adequacy of the project, an evaluation of attendance and purchase handcrafted items of expenditure will be in June.
Good trip in this project, which should help artisans in their businesses, increase their incomes, and facilitate the visit of the medina of Marrakech to our foreign visitors.
