OURIKA VALLEY
In the heart of the country of the Berbers, the Ourika Valley (it owes its name to the river that runs through it) is still one of the most beautiful and best preserved in Morocco, small villages clung to the flanks of the forests, waterfalls and rocky landscapes valleys, all this makes up a wild and seductive harmony in the confines of the Western Atlas.
A green oasis among high mountains, a trip that combines the discovery of a lush nature and a traditional way of life, with their houses, crafts and local natural resources.
This valley is beautiful especially from February to April when almond trees, cherry trees and wild flowers bloom, which transforms it into a refuge to beat the heat of the capital during summer. For that reason there are numerous local tourists coming there.
Pick up at Riad Aguaviva at 9:30 AM, heading towards the village of Setti Fatma, located 64 km from Marrakesh (1 hour journey approximately) and 1500 meters above sea level. Setti Fatma is a typical Berber village and the most important town in the Valley.
Once there you will have time for a walk, contemplate the charm of the small adobe builded village and its quiet life and know the true spirit of the Berbers / Imazighen. The highlight of the site is the set of seven waterfalls that make it one of the most popular touristic destinations in the entire Ourika Valley.
There are many cafes and small charm restaurants for having lunch, some of them located “along the river,” where you can find salads, couscous and tagines.
Arrival to Marrakech at arround 5 PM.
